(1317-1447)

  • Arrived at Wallops Island Test Pad Site (NASA0025) to remove NASA0025 from the pad and reinstall it at NPOL. Found approx. 1" of standing water in the tub when it was opened. Removed the black box and drained the water out, and dried the inside. The water had no effect on the operation of the system. Arrived at NPOL at 1418 local.Because the battery had been steadily losing voltage, and it was over 2 years old, it was replaced. Ran successful diagnostics, leveled and cleaned as necessary.

January 15, 2014
Disregard all tips from the below mentioned platform during the specified time on this day.
(0930-0940)

  • Arrived at Wallops Island Test Pad (NASA0011) at 0930 local. NASA0011 had a tip disparity during the last rain event. Gauge 'A' tipping mechanism had come out of its pivot points. We adjusted the pivot screws to correct the problem. Releveled gauges as needed and performed successful diagnostics.

(1040-1120)

  • Arrived at Doc Johnson Site (NASA0024) at 1040 local. Replaced the battery due to falling voltage. Found that the battery was labeled as being installed new on November 26, 2013. Replaced the battery in spite of this and will monitor it. Will bring the replaced battery back to the lab in F160 and test it. Diagnostics were not run because there was no other indication of problems. Gauge did not need leveling.

( 1122-1145)

  • Arrived at Atlantic Tractor Site (NASA0019) at 1122 local. Found that gauge 'B' outer can orifice was completely clogged up with debris. Cleaned and releveled both gauges as needed.

(1157-1215)

  • Arrived at Haywards Lott Site (NASA0009) at 1157 local. The previous days rain event showed signs of a tip disparity. Both gauges were clean and level with no obstructions. Found that Gauge 'A' would not respond to the tip tests. Cleaned the reed switch on the gauge and adjusted the magnet of the tipping mechanism closer to the reed switch. Ran tip tests again multiple times and the gauge responded correctly to all the tips. Ran diagnostics and they were good. Releveled both gauges as needed.

(1225-1307)

  • Arrived at the Pocomoke Visitors Center (NASA0017) at 1225 local. Gauges were clean and no obstructions found. Tip tests were good. Noticed that gauge 'B' tipping mechanism was slightly loose in the pivot points so adjusted the tipping mechanism for that. No other problems found.
