Relative Calibration [RCA]
The Relative Calibration Adjustment (RCA) technique, orginally developed by
Silberstein et al. 2008 and further developed by Wolff et al. 2014 (in review) is
used to monitor NPOL calibration. Based on results from both self-consistency (SC) and
direct comparison to 2DVD data, the RCA baseline was set on 2/12/2013. At this date, we
believe that a subtraction of 0.5 dB from the reflectivity would provide our best estimate
for an absolute calibration. Hence, and past or future changes to the RCA value, not
due to elevation pointing errors, are contributed to be changes in the actual calibration
and will be adjusted accordingly.
